From November 1st to December 17th, we will be holding a series of mini-contests leading up to the finale, where the winner, voted on by the Deviantart community, wins a 1 year Premium Membership!
Each week, a form of media will be featured as part of the Contest. We will be starting with the "easier" mediums to create your art piece as it gives everyone a chance to participate. The contest holds several meanings and is open to self-interpretation!
LITERATURE WEEK 1 CLOSED
Thank you all so much for your hardwork. Everyone who submitted gave us a lot of very wonderful, inspirational, emotional, and personal background of yourself in this literature week! We'll soon make announcements of when to start submitting to Week 2 so hang in there!
Please wait until we pick out the best of the best. Also, start preparing those Self Shots for the second week! Remember to hold all other submissions until the week of when they are due.
SELF SHOTS WEEK 2 FAQ
Here are some FAQs to get you started!
What are self-shots?
It is taking a photograph of YOURSELF doing what you love, dressed in something you enjoy and expressing who YOU really are!
1. YOU, your face(optional but preferred), your BODY/arm/leg/toe/fingers/(required) are in the photograph
2. Objects reflect YOUR INTEREST, your life. YOU in the surface.
3. Cannot be more than 50% OTHER media. Has to be mostly photograph.
You CAN have someone else take a photo of you if they are able to.
Are mirror shots accepted?
Sadly we do not. A picture of you standing in front of a mirror does not tell us what you're about... unless you absolutely love taking photos of yourself in front of a mirror.
Are costumes allowed?
NO. Cosplay will be upcoming afterwards. Example, our dear founder was once a pro-wrestler, so he would most likely take a photo of himself with his WCW Heavyweight Championship replica belt.
HOWEVER!! Traditional clothings like Sari, Hanbok, Cheongsam, Barong, etc.. are absolutely welcome.
Are works that are already in my gallery allowed?
YES! You may certainly submit existing works, as long as they are yours ^^
I didn't join week 1! Can I still join?!?
Of course you can! Just please avoid submitting to closed folders (i.e. Week 1)
